The Government recently conducted a bilateral discussion with the French Government in order to get its support for Sri Lanka’s rapid development.
The discussion held between the State Minister of National Policy and Economic Development Niroshan Perera and Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka Jean-Marin Schuh mainly focused on the development of power, construction and health sectors.
Hydro power, construction of bridges and road system reconstruction, water supply systems, nutrition and health issues, waste disposal and urban beautification, development activities in dry zones were highlighted during the discussion.
Officers representing the Ministry and the Embassy included National Policy and Economic Affairs State Ministry Secretary M.I.M. Rafeeq, Additional Secretary U. Tennakoon, Director General (National Planning) Sanjaya Mudalige, Director General (Foreign Affairs) Priyantha Ratnayake, French Development Institute Asian Regional Deputy Director Fran Coise Chaliearand South Asian Regional Director Nicolas Fornage.
