A Sri Lanka-Japan Policy Dialogue at the senior official level between the two Foreign Ministries will be held on 12 January at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo.
The Policy Dialogue will be chaired by Ranjith Uyangoda, Additional Secretary of the East Asia and Pacific and Pubic Communications Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Japanese delegation will be led by Kazuya Nashida, Director General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of line ministries/agencies will participate at the Policy Dialogue. The Policy Dialogue provides a framework to consider concrete measures to enhance bilateral and economic cooperation. The Policy Dialogue was proposed during the official visit of Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka to Japan from 4-7 October 2015.
A Dialogue on Maritime Security, Safety and Oceanic Issues between Sri Lanka and Japan, hosted by the Ministry of Defence, will also be held on 13 January.
