Pakistan is keenly interested in investing in Sri Lanka, especially in the sectors of agriculture, Information Technology and construction, Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Retired Major General Syed Shakeel Hussain announced recently.
Meeting Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Finance Ministry on 18 August, the Pakistan High Commissioner further said he would encourage top Pakistani investors to come to Sri Lanka as there was a favourable investment environment is prevailing in the island.
Expanding of the existing direct flight service between the two countries was also discussed during the meeting between Karunanayake and Hussain.
The Finance Minister drew the attention of the High Commissioner to obtain the contribution by the Pakistani national carrier in the flight expansion plan.
