Dr. Damitha de Zoysa joins Central Finance Board

Former senior civil servant Dr. Damitha de Zoysa has been appointed to the Board of Central Finance Plc as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

She joins the board to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Faizer Mohideen.

De Zoysa was the former Secretary to the Ministry of Plantation Industries from 2014-2015, the former Secretary to the Ministry of Productivity Promotion from 2013-2014, the former Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development from 2010-2013, the Director General of the Department of Fiscal Policy, Ministry of Finance and Planning from 2005-2006 and the Director General of the Department of Development Finance from 2006-2010.

She serves as a Consultant/Advisor to CHEC Port City Colombo Ltd. and has served as a Director of DFCC Bank, Lankaputhra Development Bank and Sri Lanka Savings Bank during her tenure at the Finance Ministry.

She was also the Chairperson of the Plantation Trust Fund, a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, the National Aquatic Resources and Research Development Agency, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board and a member of the Board of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology.

She holds a degree in Economics (Statistics) from the University of Peradeniya, M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Development Economics from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, an M.A degree in Economics from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA and a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA.
