With reference to Daily FT article yesterday titled “NDB noose hangs over whistleblower CFO despite serious allegations” the NDB has sent the following statement.
“We wish to express our disappointment that a publication of the standing of the Daily Financial Times published such an article which contains numerous factual errors and baseless assumptions without even requesting a clarification or comment from the Bank. While we reject the contents of the said article unequivocally, we would be grateful if the following statement of the Bank’s position be carried at the earliest possible and with equal prominence given to the said article. The Bank wishes to place on record that no action has been taken against any employee for any justifiable complaint under the Whistle-blowing Policy and that the Bank has throughout acted to ensure that its’ internal reporting systems are complied with in a timely and productive manner at all levels and as such, is not in a position to comment on any ongoing internal processes of the Bank with regard to any employee. The Bank wishes to state that the statement in the article under reference that “NDB is on the verge of firing its CFO” in no way reflects the present position of the Bank or the current stage of its internal procedure, and thus the Bank rejects the statement made in the said article.”
