Members of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry yesterday assured the Government that they would expedite medical support for those affected by the unprecedented monsoonal floods in 15 districts.
This undertaking was given during a meeting convened by Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne yesterday.
It was decided that members of the Chamber, which includes multinational pharmaceutical companies, in consultation with the Health Ministry, will set up free medical camps in affected areas as well as provide free medicine and other urgent assistance. The members will also rush essential supplies such as water and food items to those displaced.
