SAITM disassociates with Gamunu Wijeratne

The South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) in a statement yesterday said that the self-acclaimed SAITM Parents Association headed by Gamunu Wijeratne has no affiliation to the institute, nor is it the official association of parents for SAITM. “It is in association where Mr. Wijeratne voices his personal opinion rather than the view of a majority of over 1,500 parents. SAITM and its Management will not be held responsible for the statements given through this association as it does not represent even a fraction of the number of parents of students attending the Medical Faculty,” the statement added.
