Twenty-six top woman business and professional leaders will have their say as to what the Government should consider priorities in the 2019 Budget, at an exclusive forum organised by the Daily FT and the Colombo University MBA Alumni Association, in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank.
The unique pre-Budget forum, held for the eighth consecutive year, for the first time brings together women leaders, given their significant contribution to the national economy, and recognises the role women can play in policy making.
State Minister of Finance Eran Wickramaratne will be the Chief Guest at the event at Hilton Colombo, whilst Senior Advisor to Finance Ministry Mano Tittawella will be the Guest of Honour. Several other officials of the Treasury will be present as well. At the forum, each woman leader will be given an opportunity to list one to three ideas or recommendations of their choice for the Government to consider when finalising the 2019 Budget, which will be presented by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera in Parliament on 5 November.
