The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) has summoned officials of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) to appear before it next week to review the progress of tax and penalty collection.
The members of the COPA will inquire into the measures taken by the IRD to collect due taxes from various institutions on 10 March.
The Committee decided at its first meeting in January to publicise all the institutions which have failed to pay the due taxes.
Committee Chairman Prof. Tissa Vitharana instructed the Inland Revenue Department to submit to the Committee a list of institutions who have failed to pay the due levies within two months.
Meanwhile officials of Sri Lanka Customs have been summoned before the COPA on 9 March.
