For the sixth consecutive year, Cisco – the worldwide leader in IT – has announced its Principal Sponsorship for Sri Lanka’s premier annual Cyber Security Summit 2018 edition.
The summit on 19 and 20 September at Cinnamon Grand consists of three key events: CEOs’ Forum on Cyber Security on 19 September and Cyber Security Day Conference and the Night Hack on 20 September.
The CEOs’ Forum discussed why cyber security should be a board room discussion, whilst the Night Hack is an innovative and informative evening of information security demonstrations.
The summit is co-organised by the Daily FT and CICRA – Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organisation.
CICRA Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that the co-organisers are honoured to have Cisco – a global leader that supports companies of all sizes to transform how people connect, communicate, and collaborate – as a principal sponsor from the inception of the summit.
“This year’s summit will be a bigger and better experience with number of international and local cyber security experts addressing the gathering. The summit will focus on Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Forensic Investigations, Data leakages and security on ecommerce,” Dayaratne said.
“The main objective of the summit is to create awareness on the importance of cyber security among top officers in the top corporate management and IT professionals. It also infuses them with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing and measuring information security postures of their organisations and countermeasures.”
“The summit will also expose the latest flaws in information security that affects the global community including the corporations and the governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field,” he said.
