Emirates’ ‘35 Years, 35 Words’ competition winner receives his prize

Marketing and communications professional and thespian Anuk de Silva has won a return ticket to Dubai from Emirates after he participated in a Facebook competition conducted by the airline in partnership with the Daily FT to mark 35 years of Emirates operations to Colombo.

The competition ‘35 Years, 35 Words’ invited Sri Lankans to comment, in 35 words, what their favourite Emirates destination is and why. 

De Silva, whose post was chosen as the winner, nominated New York as his favourite destination. Emirates launched its operations to Colombo on 1 April 1986 and currently operates six weekly flights, connecting customers to more than 90 destinations via Dubai. The airline has announced the addition of a seventh weekly flight from 3 May.
