The International Trade and Investment Promotion Ministry yesterday categorically denied news articles stating that further actions on the Sri Lanka-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) have been temporarily suspended, adding that the Government is yet to take a decision on it.
“The Government of Sri Lanka has not yet decided to temporarily suspend the Sri Lanka-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. The further actions on the trade agreement will be taken based on the recommendations of the expert committee appointed by the President to review the Agreement, and the decisions of the FR cases filed at the Supreme Court,” the Ministry said, issuing a statement yesterday.
