Uber recently released ‘How Sri Lanka Moved in 2019: A Year in Review’, which reveals Sri Lanka’s most loved Uber service, most visited local and foreign destinations and preferred dates and times to use Uber.
Backed by rider insights and captivating data, the report shares information on the increasing importance of ridesharing within the country and efforts to create sustainable cities for the future.
Uber X was found to be the most popular mode of service in Sri Lanka, followed by the cost-effective options UberMoto and UberTuk. One Galle Face, Kottawa Town and the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre were the top three locations within Sri Lanka on the Uber app. While December was the most popular month for Uber rides in Sri Lanka, the highest percentage of Uber trips happened between 5.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. in 2019. Sri Lanka-registered Uber users traveling overseas reported the most rides in Doha, Chennai and Melbourne. Commenting on the year in review, Uber Sri Lanka and South Asia Head Prabhjeet Singh said: “We’re excited about showcasing how Sri Lanka moved in 2019. It is humbling to see that our vision of a multimodal mobility solution fits so well in the everyday life of Sri Lankan riders and that they are taking to our many convenient, reliable and affordable offerings. We are committed to continuing our efforts to provide seamless mobility to our riders in 2020 and beyond.”
