Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises to provide 300,000 MT of coal

Cabinet approval was given this week to award Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises Ltd. the contract to provide 300,000 tonnes of coal for the coal power plant in Puttalam. Covering approval was given for the $ 16 million contract, subject to the recommendation of the special standing procurement committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers. The proposal to the Cabinet was made by Minister of Power Dullas Alahapperuma.
