In ensuring the best of the professional education providers in Sri Lanka will continue to offer the benchmark CA qualification for the benefit of students across the country, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently recognised 13 such professional education providers as Accredited Learning Partners.
The 13 Accredited Learning Partners will help produce versatile Chartered Accountants by strengthening the knowledge delivery process, while also enabling learning partners to improve the education standards in line with international standards, as per the guidelines issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC SMO 2) and the Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes – Accounting and Auditing (ROSC Report) recommendations issued by the World Bank.
The learning partners who are based across the country were recognised under three categories, Executive, Business and Corporate levels; as well as Executive and Business levels and the Executive level.
Leading professional education providers such as the Institute for Accounting Studies, Colombo, JMC Jayasekara Management Centre Ltd., Colombo, Inspiro Business School, Nugegoda and KBBS Campus, Colombo were granted accreditation to conduct lectures for all three levels (Executive, Business and Corporate) of the CA curriculum, while IBA Campus, Kandy, Institute of Business Management, Jaffna, National Institute of Cooperative Development, Kandy and Sipwin Institute, Kurunegala were granted accreditation to conduct lectures for the Executive and Business levels of the CA Qualification.
Meanwhile, IPC Institute of Professional Creation Ltd., Kalutara South, IPM Institute of Professional Management, Peradeniya, Jaffna College Undergraduate Department, Jaffna, MBS Educational Services (Minka Business School), Galle and the Institute of Vision Launch (IVL), Batticaloa were granted accreditation by CA Sri Lanka to conduct lectures for the Executive level.
Speaking at the event, CA Sri Lanka President Lasantha Wickremasinghe said that as an institute which believes in quality more than quantity, CA Sri Lanka has taken every step to ensure all its partners including learning partners are the best, to ensure the institute’s student population receives the best of education in their pursuit to become chartered accountants.
“The success of a globally sought after chartered accountant depends on the learning and training they receive during the early stages. Therefore, there is no doubt that a solid education provided by a learning partner will help them progress towards becoming exceptionally talented chartered accountants,” he said.
