Dialog Axiata Group Chief Marketing Officer Amali Nanayakkara illuminates a digital light on the Dialog Nethrabhiwandana Poson Digital Aloka Pooja in the presence of Chief Incumbent of the Viharaya, Ven. Walawahengunawewe Dhammarathana Thero, MP Chandima Gamage and others
Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, launched an interactive digital Poson experience – Dialog Nethrabhiwandana Poson Digital Aloka Pooja – which was accessible via poson.dialog.lk from 15-16 June, following the ceremonial initiation of the Poson Aloka Pooja at Mihintale Raja Maha Viharaya.
Dialog Nethrabhiwandana Poson Digital Aloka Pooja was developed to provide a truly transcending and interactive experience to Buddhist devotees across Sri Lanka, and to those on pilgrimage to Mihintale, where anyone was able to be a part of Sri Lanka’s largest Poson Aloka Pooja from anywhere and illuminate a digital light adorning a digital Raja Maha Viharaya stupa on poson.dialog.lk which also appeared on an LED screen, which was set up at the Mihintale Raja Maha Viharaya.
The Digital Aloka Pooja was launched by Chief Incumbent of the Viharaya, Venerable Walawahengunawewe Dhammarathana Thero, Chandima Gamage, Member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, and Amali Nanayakkara, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC. It was developed in line with the traditional 84,000 Pahan Pooja ceremony, where the objective was to illuminate 84,000 digital lights on poson.dialog.lk and on the LED screen set up at the Mihintale Raja Maha Viharaya, before midnight on 16 June. All 84,000 digital lights were illuminated by 9:30 p.m. on Poson Poya day, by Buddhist devotees across the country.
Dialog is a company deeply engrained in Sri Lankan lives, and a prolific supporter of Sri Lankan heritage and culture and many cultural events, including the Kandy Perahara, Kelaniya Duruthu Maha Perahara, Nawam Maha Perahara at Gangaramaya, Baudhaloka Vesak Kalapaya, Sri Buddha Rashmi Vesak Kalapaya at Gangaramaya, Katharagama Esala Perahara, Gatabaru Esala Perahara, and Kotte Raja Maha Vihara Perahara.
