Election Chief assures health guidelines will be followed at polling stations

Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya yesterday assured that strict health guidelines will be followed ,and there is no reason for voters to be afraid to come to the polling stations to cast their vote in the Parliamentary Elections.

He said that a number of health guidelines will be followed during the Parliamentary Elections, which includes hand-washing with disinfectant liquid on several occasions in every polling station.

The Chairman said a large amount of money would have to be spent for the disinfectant liquid needed to clean hands alone at the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections.
