Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner of South Africa accredited to the Republic of Namibia presented Letters of Credence to President of Namibia Dr. Hage G. Geingob on 22 August at State House, Windhoek, Namibia.
The High Commissioner along with the Australian High Commissioner and six Ambassadors; Angola, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Kuwait, Iceland and Korea were warmly welcomed by the Namibian President and the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Dr. Hage G. Geingob; Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka extended warm greetings from President Maithripala Sirisena and expressed Sri Lanka’s interest in renewing cordial relations which exist between the two countries.
High Commissioner Mallimaratchi was accompanied by Udeni Mallimaratchi and Sacky Aipinge, the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka, to the Ceremony. After the Ceremony, the High Commissioner had an audience with the President of Namibia and other officials on bilateral issues.
