Minister of National Coexistence Dialogue and Official Languages Mano Ganesan yesterday slammed a private bank for suspending some of its employees over a war remembrance event.
Ganesan said the move by HNB was deplorable and definitely a very bad corporate practice.
The bank had reportedly suspended some employees for holding a war remembrance event in the bank premises without the approval of the top management.
“#HNB suspending employees for conducting event for “#remembering the #dead & who perished in the #war” is deplorable and definitely a very bad #corporate practice. #HNB motto is “Partner in Progress”. Progress without humanism? Partnership with chauvinistic considerations?” Ganesan tweeted.
