Fast-unto-death campaign to continue till Minister and two Governors are removed from posts

Parliamentarian Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero yesterday commenced a hunger strike in front of the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, demanding the removal of three Muslim politicians.

Rathana Thero demands the removal of Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and Governors M.L.A.M Hizbullah and Azath Salley from their respective posts, noting that the hunger strike will continue until the Minister and two Governors are removed from their posts.

Earlier this week, Rathana Thero had granted a 24-hour period for Bathiudeen to step down from his ministerial portfolio.

He had commenced a fast-unto-death campaign yesterday as the said time period had lapsed on Thursday (30).
