Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake yesterday sought a copy of the report on the treasury bond investigations from the Presidential Secretariat.
The Parliamentarian sought the copy of the report using the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Karunanayake visited the Presidential Secretariat to meet the President’s Secretary but since he was not in office the RTI application was submitted to an additional secretary.
Karunanayake said that he had nothing to fear and wants the truth to be revealed with regards to the treasury bond issue. President Maithripala Sirisena last week made a statement on the findings of the commission but did not make public the full report.
The Presidential commission which investigated the treasury bond scam recommended steps be taken against Karunanayake, former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and Perpetual Treasuries head Arjun Aloysius.
The report by the commission had also found that former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran had leaked sensitive inside information.
Karunanayake denied the allegations against him and said that some members of the Government and the opposition are attempting to politically assassinate him. (Colombo Gazette)
