Virakesari, the national Tamil language newspaper in Sri Lanka, has signed a collaborative agreement with “Thinathanthi”, having a daily circulation of over 1.8 million copies across India. The Thanthi group has TV and Radio besides print.
Up-to-date news from the sub-continent and the world will now be available through the pages of Thanthi in the Virakesari. Besides news, there will also be articles of reader interest in the health, tourism, education and entertainment fields.
The collaboration will help in the improvement of journalism quality as well as provide a platform for training and skills development. Express Newspapers publishes international news in English in the “Daily Express” which is circulated in Colombo along with the Virakesari. Readers will now be able to read “Thinathanthi” along with the Virakesari.
This collaborative agreement was entered into in Colombo on 9 January between the two companies, and the supplement of the “Thinathanthi” will be carried with the Daily Virakesari from 24 January onwards, from Monday to Saturday.
