Health authorities yesterday confirmed two COVID-19 deaths, which brought the country’s COVID-19 fatalities to 534.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, a 59-year-old individual from Negombo tested positive for COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. He was then admitted to the Medical Faculty Hospital of the Kotelawala Defence University. However, he died of heart disease, COVID pneumonia, high blood pressure, acute diabetes and kidney disease yesterday.
On Monday, a 75-year-old individual from Kandy died of acute COVID pneumonia at the Teldeniya Base Hospital, where she was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19 at the Kandy General Hospital.
