The pandol at the Hakmana Poson Zone

A pandol depicting the ‘Siri Dalada Puwatha’ took centre stage at the Hakmana Poson zone while the rest of the Danny Abeywickrema Public Ground was more of a carnival atmosphere with the organisers being forced to have merry go rounds, Ferris wheels, a well of death and other forms of entertainment to cover up cost.

A member of the Hakmana United Youth, which organised the Poson zone for the third consecutive year, said that they had to resort to this measure as there was minimal political patronage this year compared to the previous two years.

Member of the Southern Provincial Council Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena switched on  the lights to inaugurate the pandol.
