The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) conducted its fourth international management program in Indonesia with their number one ranked university, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MMUGM). The eight-day program, from 22 to 28 April, revolved around ‘Strategic Management’.
The participants while learning the conceptual aspects of strategic management in the lecture room sessions were also brought into contact with public and private sector management experts in Indonesia. The participants were addressed by senior officials at the Jakarta Smart City, Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Department of Industry and Trade in Sleman Government and Mega Andalan Kalasan.
The exposure to the Jakarta Smart City, that is being developed to find solution and solve problems in the Jakarta City through effective utilisation of information technology and strategic coordination of the major urban components, was considered as a unique experience, by the participants. The program was in line with the PIM’s strategic partnership building initiated by PIM Director Prof. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri. The program, in its entirety was coordinated by Dilhan V. Goonetilleke, a Faculty Member and a Management Consultant of the PIM.
