Aeturnum Lanka commemorates decade of excellence through ‘Progress Perfection’

Aeturnum Lanka celebrated 10 years of excellence at a commemorative event in the presence of dignitaries, alumnae, staff and well-wishers last week. The event was a recollection and recognition of Aeturnum’s past achievements, present projects and future endeavours shared by those who make up the core of this organisation. 

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives Atul Keshap congratulated Aeturnum Lanka for its milestone. “It is great that we can connect between Westford Massachusetts and Nugegoda Sri Lanka and make amazing products and solutions for global giants. This is the greatness of Sri Lankan talent…the ability to be recognised as geniuses in the world of IT.”  Ambassador Keshap also said that Sri Lanka has the possibility of increasing the capacity of IT intellectuals from 3000 to 300,000 as there is a huge need for the innate Sri Lankan talent in this industry.

Guest of Honour, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva congratulated Aeturnum Lanka, and in agreement with Ambassador Keshap said that Sri Lanka needs to increase the numbers of IT professionals. “Like Elon Musk looking to the future of sustainable development through technology, we too must pay attention to what is in store for this nation in the next 10 years. Artificial Intelligence will change the whole paradigm of things to come and our government must provide the right policies and incentives to the IT industry to keep up with these changes.”

Aeturnum Inc, headquartered in Bedford, MA has been providing software development and IT consulting services to North America since 2001 and initiated operations in Sri Lanka in November 2006 as a part of its global expansion initiative. Over the past 10 years, Aeturnum Lanka has created niche products for global giants such as PayPal, NetApp, Microsoft, Oracle to name a few. 

In 2015, Aeturnum Lanka’s white label mobile wallet and payment processing platform created for Paydiant was acquired by PayPal, proving that this processor is world-class.

In 2013 the company started on a project called Incentivio, a cloud-based mobile first marketing platforms that allows restaurants, retailers and original brands to create highly personalised relationships with their customers. Athiva, the company’s third in-house project that was started this year is a platform that fast tracks the goals of startups by shortening the time to launch successfully in to market.

Having started this company in 2006, Bhakhri said he is humbled at this incredible 10-year journey that has included a commitment to technical excellence, innovation and customer success. “The fact that several of our customers have been acquired by companies like eBay, Oracle, NetApp and PayPal is a testament to our prowess and specialisation.”

After the successfully decade in excellence, Aeturnum Lanka took this opportunity to rebrand itself with a new logo. Under the ethos of ‘Progress Perfection’, the company has refreshed the logo to symbolise collaboration and teamwork, and revamped the corporate website to reflect its true culture and the spirit of the organisation. The company also launched a blog, ‘The Aeturnist’ that chronicles the achievements, progress and daily thoughts of this close-knit family organisation. Also speaking at the event, Aeturnum VP Software Delivery and Operations Menuke de Silva said, “From just four employees, we have grown to over 100, delivered over 100 software projects to an expanding global client base spanning across the US, India, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Dubai. 

However, our goal is not to grow in numbers but to be remembered for the quality of our solutions.” He went on to pay tribute to his staff, both past and present with special mention to the stalwarts of the company, Managing Director Dasarath Hettiarachchi and Finance Director Dr. Indira Hettiarachchi. 

Today having made significant inroads into the ICT sector, Aeturnum Lanka has created a name for themselves as one of the country’s preferred software developers and consultants. Aeturnum provides a full spectrum of software services that includes Technology Consulting, Product Platform Services, Enterprise Software Solutions, Maintenance, Performance and Porting and Quality Assurance Services.
