The Mövenpick Hotel Colombo will be hosting ‘Mövenpick Weddings’, its very first wedding fair.
Its ‘intimate, precious, and extraordinary’ theme aims to display the creativity within the wedding industry. This in turn will help future brides and grooms understand and appreciate the unique talents of the designers and exhibitors.
The Mövenpick Hotel revealed at a press conference yesterday the very first wedding fair, facilitating under one roof all wedding requirements of couples.
It will be open to the public on 1 September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The spacious arrangement organised by Mövenpick will allow exhibitors to showcase their collections of designs, products and materials.
The Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives will be at the exhibition to promote their new resorts to Sri Lankan visitors as the ideal honeymoon destination.
Addressing the gathering at the press conference, Mövenpick Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing Padmi Fernando said: “It’s been 17 months since the Mövenpick Hotel was launched, achieving great success in the hotel industry with our competitors. We wanted to bring this to the next level. In order to make a change, Mövenpick Hotel came to a decision to hold a wedding show attracting people towards unique, luxurious and small-scale wedding concepts as the Hotel handles over 10 to 15 weddings with a limited audience of up to 150 per day, which are very intimate by nature.”
She further highlighted the special surprises and offers awaiting visitors at the Mövenpick wedding exhibition.
Speaking of official sponsorships and partners, Mövenpick Hotel General Manager George Koumendakos said that, to make this wedding show a success, the Hotel joined hands with Sri Lanka’s leading representatives in the wedding industry.
“We have selected 21 exhibitors from various fields in the wedding industry, namely: Buddhi Batiks, Michael Wijesuriya, the ‘Bridal Atelier’ by Ramona Oshini, Hameedia, Aslam Hussein, O:LIVE Couture, Belle Amour, Ramani Fernando Salons, Elegance by Design, Wedding Connections, Shirohana, Lassana Flora, Petals, Alankara, Stone ‘N’ String, Unique Jewellers, Fashion Fabrics, Events by Shero, the Banquet Company, Studio 3000, Studio U, and Nadun Badague, bringing the city of culture a chance to interact with representatives of the fashion and bridal industry and to have hands-on experience under one shelter,” he added.
The General Manager also mentioned the official magazine partner for the wedding fair will be ‘Brides of Sri Lanka’.
The Mövenpick Hotel Colombo, consisting of twenty-four floors, offers a cool urban touch. The fifth floor is dedicated to banquets, giving guests the privacy required for a close knit wedding ceremony. The stunning banquet hall and state-of-the-art facilities will not fail to impress, offering an exciting blend of slender, outstanding food and unrivalled service.
