National List MP Dr. Sarath Amunugama announced yesterday that he will be retiring from active politics and will not be contesting in the upcoming Parliamentary Election. 
“After a certain time, you have to retire from politics. I will not contest the General Election. Young people must be given the chance,” Amunugama told reporters at a press conference yesterday. He was elected to from the UPFA national list to the current Parliament.
