Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is visiting India from 26-29 April, called on the Indian National Congress Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi this week.
The Congress Party Leader said that her party was constantly striving towards strengthening the historical ties between India and Sri Lanka, assisting Sri Lanka with its development process and upholding regional democracy.
Attention was focused on Sri Lanka’s development activities and its progress, as well as on the region’s political and social trends during the meeting.
Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was also present at the occasion.
