Colombo Uni’s 5th intl. conference on Management and Finance on Friday

The Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo has made all arrangements to hold its International Research Conference on Management & Finance, a platform of sharing knowledge among research scholars in the disciplines of Management and Finance in the region for the fifth consecutive year.

The conference will be held on 10 December 2010 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Colombo from 8 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

With the resounding success of the previous four international conferences organised by the Faculty and the experience gained throughout the process, the faculty is confident that the 5th conference brings forth a highly value added podium for the audience both in terms of quality and process. Local and international researchers will present their research findings on different issues relating to various areas of Management and Finance such as accounting & management information systems, human resource management, management & organisational studies, entrepreneurship & small business management, business economics & international business, marketing & supply chain management and corporate finance, investment, finance & financial markets.

All the papers presented at this conference have been double checked in order to assure the quality of work. Initially all papers were screened through abstracts and then through the full papers.

 These steps were taken to ensure the quality of the conference so that participants would be really benefited from each other’s work. Further, the Faculty believes research is an integral part of academic life and it would augment the teaching in the classroom.

It has been scheduled to present 41 selected local and foreign research papers for deliberation and discussion at this conference. In addition to the technical papers presented, the conference will feature the keynote speech delivered by Professor Ali Khabi, (Ph.D), Dean, Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies, Management Science University, Malaysia on the subject of how great leader get organisations to achieve extraordinary. The inaugural session of the conference will be presided by Professor Gamini Samaranayake, Chairman, University Grants Commission. Professor Kshanika Hirimburegama, vice-chancellor, University of Colombo will be the guest of honour at this occasion.
