Women’s Rugby is increasing in numbers in Asia and the Asia Rugby giving prominence to women’s rugby in the region. Sri Lanka schools will see 12 teams locking horns in the Inter School event which will be worked off starting in February 2019 in a league format in line with the Boys event.
Already 12 outstation teams have shown interest and according to reliable source a few more teams from the Central region will add colour to this event.
Kuliyapitya Central, Paduwasnuwara Central, Nugawela Central, Piliyandala Central, Ginthota Central, Devapathiraja National School, Ratgama, St. Marys, Yatiyanthota, Dehiowita National School, Orubandiwewa Maha Vidyalaya Mahiyangana, Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya, Ampara, Asoka Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura and Kalundawa Maha Vidyalaya, Ruwanwella have already confirmed their participation at next month’s event.
