Overall champions Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala netball teams

The girls from Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala walked away with the overall Champions of the 24th All Island Schools Netball Tournament which concluded at the Bernanrd Aluwihare grounds. 

This was the eighth successive time the girls from Kurunegala won this title when they beat Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala by 25/20 in the Under 18 finals.

The youngsters at the Under 14 level too were victorious when the Holy Family Convent girls beat Maliyadeva BV in the Under 14 final by 12/6. Eppawala Siddhartha MV won the Under 16 beating the HFC Kurunegala 11/10 in a closely-contested final. Devini Dimalsha Herath of HFC, Kurunegala was adjudged the best player in the under 18 of A Division while Shanika Ekanayaka of Eppawala Sri Siddhartha MV won the best player award in under 16 category. 

Dilusha Gallage of HFC won the best player in the under 14 segment. In the B Division, under 18 award went to Anuradhi Rathnayake of Bandarapola MV, Matale and Sandani Weerasinghe from the same school was adjudged as the best player of the under 16 segment. Bagya Mudithamali of Rathmalwinna MV won the best player award for the under 14 segment.

Chief Guest Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake and Nestle Plc Assistant Vice President Bandula Egodage gave away the awards.
