Roshan Weeraratne leads Kandy SC

Former Kingswood, Sri Lankan Sevens and Fifteens player, Roshan Weeraratne will lead the strong Kandy Sports Club in their 2016/2017 rugby season. Kandy will kick-off the season with an away game against CH & FC to be played at the Race Course at Royal Complex. This venue change is due to the ongoing Cricket season and the previous choice of venue being used by the Colombo Cricket Club (CCC)

Kandy will have some outstanding players in their starting line-up such as national sevens skipper, Dhanushka Ranjan, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Kanchana Ramanayake, Roshan Weeraratne, Gayan Weeraratne, Fazil Marija, Nigel Ratwatte, Arshard Jamaldeen, Kishore Jahn and Shashika Jayawardena in their line-up and already more than 45 are in the training squad under Sean Wijesinghe and assisted by Nalaka Weerakody with Kapila Silva as the Manager of the outfit.
