Accor has expanded its portfolio of Mövenpick hotels in the Kingdom of Thailand, with the opening of the Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok in the Thai capital.
The resort, which first opened in 1984 as the Hilton Nai Lert Park, is surrounded by 1.2 acres of lush greenery with trees dating back over a century. It is a 10 to 15-minute walk to Ploenchit BTS skytrain station with major shopping malls such as Central Embassy and Central Chidlom located nearby.
The property has been completely renovated since it closed in 2016 and now features 293 rooms and suites with balconies that overlook the gardens.
The hotel boasts 2,000 sqm of indoor function space, an outdoor garden area and pool, as well as a fitness centre featuring equipment designed by David Health Solutions. A spa and a Thai specialty restaurant are scheduled to open at the end of the year.
Visiting guests can opt to visit BDMS Wellness Clinic, adjacent to the hotel, for a range of preventive healthcare treatments including physiotherapy, digestive wellness, dental and fertility treatments.
“With travellers placing more value on health and wellness than ever before, we are very excited to bring this innovative new concept to the market. Increasingly, wellness is moving beyond the walls of the spa and fitness areas with guests also wanting greater access to personalised programming. Our new offering in Bangkok is a perfect example of how Accor and its leading hotel brands are meeting this need and delivering sustainable, approachable wellbeing concepts to visiting guests as well as local communities,” said Accor Wellbeing Director Lindsay Madden-Nadeau.
In Thailand, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts currently operates hotels in Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Hua Hin. Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok is Accor’s third Mövenpick property in Bangkok, joining the Mövenpick Bangkok Sukhumvit and Mövenpick Residences Ekkamai Bangkok.
