NSB ‘Sthree’ dazzles at Miss Tourism Sri Lanka International 2016

The Lady Hilton Pageant, yet another event organised by the Hilton Club of Hilton Hotel, Colombo, in parallel to the main program, was staged under the sponsorship of National Savings Bank. All 20 contestants received an exclusive gift from the bank. General Manager/CEO Dammika Perera, Senior Deputy General Manager J.K.M. Gamanayake, Deputy General Manager (Finance and Planning) K.B. Wijeyarathne, Deputy General Manager (Operations) Ajith Peiris and Consultant (Strategies and Marketing) Chandula Abeywickrama took part in the presentation of souvenirs to the participants

National Savings Bank extended its support and contribution towards one of Sri Lanka’s biggest beauty pageants, ‘Miss Tourism Sri Lanka International 2016,’ as its Co-Sponsor.

The event which kicked off on 8 February at the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom, showcases a unique and broad concept which goes beyond the mere celebration of beauty. Especially designed to promote Sri Lanka around the world as a top tourist destination, the program is expected to play a leading role in endorsing the uniqueness of the country.

Twenty young delegates representing the Netherlands, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Singapore, USA, Italy, Belgium, Russia, Poland, Thailand, China, India, Denmark, UK, Lithuania, Sweden, Japan, Luxemburg and Sri Lanka participated in the program. 

During their two-week stay in the island, they are given the opportunity to tour around the country and experience its natural beauty, rich heritage, culture and lifestyle while joining in many activities showcasing the country’s culture and society, ensuring more awareness, interest and attention towards Sri Lanka.

Given all efforts to cross the two million tourist arrivals mark this year, this will produce the ideal opportunity to advocate Sri Lanka’s tourism. The winner of the event will be a Brand Ambassador for Sri Lanka, regardless of her nationality and during her one-year reign as ‘Miss Tourism Sri Lanka’ she will represent Sri Lanka across the globe, and bring further recognition to the country.

Designed exclusively for women, ‘Sthree’ lends a helping hand to all women to shoulder their responsibilities and to unlock their dreams for a comfortable life and a better tomorrow.
