Mr and Mrs Dingiri Rabbit is a truly heart-touching story, one with so many layers of meaning and depth, and it depicts not only the physical adventure of a family moving house, but also an emotional journey as they leave their beloved home and begin another chapter in their lives. Written by Hasitha Adhikariarachchi and illustrated by Dilmi Amarasinghe, the lyrical wording for this tale is simple and effective, and provides a wonderful framework for the evocative and colourful illustrations that will at once delight and mesmerise young readers.
The premise of this story is that one day Mr and Mrs Dingiri Rabbit go to their beautiful forest garden in order to gather food for the rainy season, only to realise that they barely have enough to see them through the bad weather.
