At the Colombo Tea Auction held on 24/ 25 September an invoice of New Vithanakande improved its own record for Low Grown OP1 grade by realising Rs. 1,650 per kilo.
New Vithanakande Tea Factory Delwala produces a wide range of Orthodox black teas that top the auction continually. Vithanakande has achieved record prices for its range of high quality teas and won awards nationally and internationally as well.
New Vithanakande Tea Factory is owned by the family of its founder the late N.B.H. Pilapitiya.
This tea was purchased by Vintage Teas Ceylon Ltd. and was successfully marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
