Houpe Estate establishes all-time record price

Houpe Estate (Selling mark – Houpe Special) achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,500 per kg for a BOP1A grade in the Low Grown Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 6/7 September.

This Estate is situated in the Ratnapura/Balangoda Agro-Climatic Region of the Sabaragamuwa Planting District and is in close proximity to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a National Heritage site. This Estate is ISO 22000:2018 certified. 

Houpe Estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of General Manager Tony Bertus, Senior Manager Indika Prabath and Factory Executive B.V. Ajith.

Senhora Synergies Group achieves two all-time record prices

• Senhora Synergies Group

Senhora Synergies Group continues to showcase their outstanding production capabilities in manufacturing best quality ‘Ceylon Tea’ by achieving another two all-time record prices in the Western Medium Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 6/7 September. 

• Dartry Valley 

• Dartry Valley – FBOP Grade recorded a price of Rs. 3,900 per kg

• Harangalla

• Harangalla – FBOPF1 Grade recorded a price of Rs. 2,850 per kg

Torrington Estate establishes all-time record price

Torrington Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,200 per kg for a PEK1 grade in the Western High Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 6/7 September.

This Estate is located in the Nuwara Eliya District at an elevation of 1,625 metres above sea level and borders the Agra Bopath Forest Reserve. The natural water source which flows through the estate has been identified as habitat for endemic species of freshwater fish.

Torrington Estate which is Rainforest Alliance certified, is managed by Agarapatana Plantations Ltd. under the stewardship of W.P.N. Wasantha.

Delmar Estate continues to excel at Colombo Tea Auctions

Delmar Estate achieved yet another all-time record price of Rs. 2,550 per kg for a FBOPF1 grade in the Uda Pussellawa Region at the weekly tea auctions held on 6/7 September.

The factory was built in 1915 at an elevation of 1,524 metres above mean sea level and is which is situated in the Uda Pusssellawa Region. Delmar Estate continues to demonstrate its outstanding ability in the manufacture of high-quality ‘Ceylon Tea’ and is Rainforest Alliance certified. 

Delmar Estate is managed by Udapussellawa Plantations PLC, an associate of Browns Power Holdings Ltd., under the stewardship of Shamil Perera. 

Wellandura Estate sets all-time record price

Wellandura Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,150 per kg for an FNGS grade in the Off-Grades category at the weekly e-auctions held on 6/7 September. 

This Estate is located in Kahawatte in the Ratnapura District and consists of almost 400 hectares of tea and rubber at an elevation of 162 metres above sea level. Wellandura Estate is ISO 22000:2018 – food, safety and hygiene management standard certified ensuring high quality standards are met throughout the production process Wellandura Estate is managed by Kahawatte Plantation PLC under the stewardship of General Manager Tony Bertus and Estate Manager Kusal Siriwardena.

Wellandura tea is exclusively marketed by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. 

Galaboda Estate achieves all-time record price

Galaboda Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,300 per kg for a BM grade in the Off-Grades category at the weekly auctions held on 6/7 September. 

Galaboda Tea Factory established in 1935 has been projecting their strength and ability to manufacture ‘Ceylon Tea’ for the past 87 years. Located in Akuressa in the Matara District, the estate covers 50 acres in its entirety, of which, 39 acres are dedicated for their organic tea garden.
