New Vithanakande Tea Factory
At this week’s Colombo Tea Auction held on 26/27 April New Vithanakande Tea Factory BOP1 achieved a record price of Rs. 4,150 for its BOP1 grade breaking the previous record of Rs. 3,800.
This factory produces a wide range of quality teas and continually sells at the highest levels at the Colombo auctions and has won many awards at national and international Competitions.
The company is chaired by Nirmalene Pilapitiya and factory is under the management of CEO Patrick Vanderpoortan, Factory Manager Lal Liyanaarachchi and Factory Officer K.W.N.P Nissanka.
This tea was marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC and purchased JMJ International Ltd.
Lumbini Tea Factory
An invoice of Orange Pekoe No.1 (OP1) grade offered for sale from Lumbini Tea factory Deniyaya achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 4,300 per Kilo. Previous record for this grade of tea was Rs. 3,700.
This tea was purchased by Tea Tang Ltd., and marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
Lumbini Tea Factory manufactures some of the finest Orthodox Black teas which receive national and international recognition. Lumbini Tea Factory holds multiple records for prices achieved at the Colombo Tea Auction.
Lumbini, is owned by D. Jayawardena with leadership of Managing Director Chaminda Jayawardena.
