Ceylon cinnamon was promoted along with Venezuelan cocoa at an event organised by the Embassy of Venezuela in Singapore at Regis Tower, Singapore on 22 October.
Participating in the event, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore created awareness of the benefits of Ceylon cinnamon and its different uses, while promoting Ceylon cinnamon in Singapore.
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, Senarath Dissanayake attended the event as a special guest and outlined the history of Sri Lanka’s cinnamon industry. In his remarks, he briefly mentioned the benefits of using pure Ceylon cinnamon, prized for its unique flavour, aroma, and medicinal value.
Minister (Commercial) of the High Commission, Yasantha Yaddehi delivered a comprehensive presentation on Ceylon cinnamon, highlighting its uniqueness in terms of the high quality, authentic flavour, and aroma, compared to the other cinnamon varieties in the market. He further outlined the numerous health benefits and different uses of Ceylon cinnamon.
Samples of Ceylon cinnamon together with Ceylon tea were distributed among the guests, providing them with an opportunity to appreciate the two exotic Sri Lankan flavours.
The guests were also treated to a specially prepared chocolate drink flavoured with Ceylon cinnamon and a Ceylon-cinnamon-flavoured porridge.
Heads of Missions and members of the diplomatic community in Singapore, food distributors and food importers in Singapore, members of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce were among the guests who attended the event.
