Browns Agriculture, a pioneer in farm mechanisation and modernisation with a legacy spanning over 150 years in Sri Lanka, has announced two groundbreaking additions to its portfolio: the new TAFE tractor model, Dynatrack, and the Browns Sumo Rice Mill.
These new cutting-edge products underscore Browns Agriculture’s commitment and vision to providing a total solution, from fertilisers to ever-evolving technology, aimed at enhancing productivity, improving quality, and meeting the growing market demand for both pre- and post-harvest requirements.
Brown’s Cluster COO – Agriculture and Heavy Equipment Sanjaya Nissanka emphasised Browns Agriculture’s enduring legacy: “For 150 years, Browns has weathered the test of time, transforming challenges into opportunities while earning the trust of generations. As the introducers of Sri Lanka’s first-ever four-wheel tractor, the Massey Ferguson, we redefined farming practices and laid the foundation for the nation’s green revolution. Today, we continue to empower farmers with tools that drive productivity, sustainability, and economic growth.”
The new TAFE tractor model, Dynatrack, represents a significant milestone in agricultural innovation. Equipped with a powerful Simpson engine, it combines exceptional fuel efficiency with unmatched profitability. Its advanced features, including a super-shuttle lever for seamless gear transitions and a 12x12 gear system, ensure versatility across diverse terrains.
The tractor boasts a lifting capacity of up to two tonnes with its Dyna Lift hydraulics, supported by a high-capacity pump for efficient attachment handling. Key innovations such as the dual-diaphragm clutch system, ultra-planetary drive technology, and portal-type front axle enhance durability, while the Quadra PTO system maximises compatibility with a wide range of farming implements.
Complementing the Dynatrack tractor, the Browns Sumo Rice Mill sets a new benchmark in rice milling technology. This IoT-integrated, automated milling machine, designed by Browns IT, enables real-time performance monitoring, maintenance scheduling, and remote alerts via a cutting-edge equipment management system accessible through laptops or mobile devices.
Engineered to produce clean, high-quality rice that surpasses traditional standards, the full-option Sumo Rice Mill is operable by a single individual, making it an essential solution for farmers and millers looking to modernise their operations. It tracks operational records, provides pre-emptive maintenance alerts, and ensures optimal performance to extend the machine’s lifespan.
Capable of processing up to 1,000 kg of parboiled or raw paddy per hour, the mill reduces energy consumption by 40% compared to traditional models. Its 18.5 kW polisher motor completes rice polishing in a single cycle, minimising broken rice and maximising whole grain yield. Additionally, its unique husk grinding mechanism eliminates the need for husk storage by converting it into powder, optimising storage space and operational efficiency.
Nissanka also said: “At Browns Agriculture, our aim is to offer total solutions to the challenges faced by the farming community. We understand the complexities of modern agriculture and are dedicated to empowering farmers with innovative tools, resources, and support. We take pride in our role as a catalyst for growth, helping to build the nation by nurturing and promoting agri-entrepreneurs. Together, we are cultivating a sustainable future for agriculture, driving economic development, and enhancing food security for all.”
