Browns Agriculture continues to play pivotal role in Govt.’s relief initiative

The Browns Agriculture Division was selected by the Sri Lankan Government as the preferred partner in its recent relief initiative to distribute water to drought-affected communities living in various parts of the country.

The program was initiated by President Maithripala Sirisena and was organised by the Minister of Home Affairs Vajira Abeywardena.

The Browns TAFE Tractor, widely acclaimed for its quality and low cost of operation, was selected as the most appropriate tractor brand by the Sri Lankan Government for this important relief program. The handing over ceremony of the tractors to the respective district secretarial offices in the affected areas took place at the Independence Square premises in Colombo recently under the patronage of Minister Abeywardena. Accordingly, Browns TAFE Tractors were handed over to the district secretarial offices of Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Ampara.

Sharing his views about this program, Browns Agriculture Deputy General Manager Sanjaya Nissanka said: “We are honoured to have been considered by the Government to assist the rural community of Sri Lanka and provide relief to them at a time when it was most needed.”
