Dickwella and Maratenne Estates achieve all-time records

At this week’s Colombo Tea Auction held on 21 and 22 June, an invoice of Dickwella Estate, Hali Ela improved its own record for BOP grade by achieving Rs. 2,150 per kg. This tea was purchased by Heritage Teas Ltd.

Dickwella Estate is part of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC. Dickwella Estate is in the very capable care of Regional Manager Chaminda Perera and the factory by the Veteran A.M. Shajahan.

Maratenne Estate

Similarly in the Premium Flowery catalogue Maratenne Estate FBOPFSP sold at Rs. 9,150 per kg, surpassing the previous record of Rs. 8,550 per kg. This tea was purchased by Ceylon Fresh Teas Ltd. Maratenne Estate belongs to Balangoda Plantations PLC, a member of Melsta Corp. with the supervision of Manager Lal Ekanayake.

Both teas were successfully marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
