At the Colombo Tea Auction of 23 August, Gampaha Estate established an all-time record price of Rs. 2,050 for a BOP grade in the Uda Pussellawa Category. This line of tea was purchased by M/s. Uni World Teas Ltd. Gampaha Estate is situated in the Uva Province in Badulla District at an elevation of 1,200 to 1,575 metres above sea level in the Uda Pussellawa District. Gampaha Estate comprises of a total extent of 348.99 hectares and produces approximately 418,000 kg of made tea annually. Gampaha Estate comes under the stewardship of the superintendent Dushmantha Magesh.
Eastern Brokers Ltd. are the brokers associated in selling and marketing of Gampaha Estate Teas.
Gampaha Estate comes under the management of Kegalle Plantation PLC and owned by the Richard Peiris Group of Companies.
