Island Tea Co. a fast growing retail tea chain brand with over 35 branches in Philippines has entered the market in Sri Lanka to start its first branch in the tourist destination of Ella, Sri Lanka. The Island Tea Co. is a Sri Lankan brand which has grown in the Philippines exponentially over the last two years and it’s the first and only speciality retail tea store in the Philippines to serve a range of the most sought-after tea blends and fusions from around the globe, all using 100% ‘Pure Ceylon Tea’. 

The first branch in Sri Lanka located in Ella, is only the start for the brand to serve its signature trend setting tea beverages that appeal to a broad segment of the market from younger to mature audiences alike. ITC Marketing Director/Lead Consultant for Philippines, India and Qatar Minodh de Sylva, signed the franchise agreements in Colombo with Vijith Welikala, Chairman of Wild Holidays Ltd. (the owning company of popular tourist destinations such as Thotupola Lakeside and Ella Jungle Resort) Watch-guard Security and M3Force Security Systems. 

‘Island Tea Co.’ chain is owned and operated by Ceylanka Trading Incorporated, a company registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Republic of the Philippines. The company has planned expansions under way in Philippines, Sri Lanka, India and Qatar within the year 2019.
