Pettiagalla Estate re-establishes all-time record price

Pettiagalla Estate, renowned for producing quality teas, once again established and all-time record price at the weekly tea auction held on 22 March. An attractive price of Rs. 1,450 per kg for a liquoring FBOPF1 grade, in the Uva Medium Category was achieved, surpassing their previous best of Rs. 1,180 per kg for the same grade which was obtained a week ago.

Pettiagalla Estate is located in Balangoda and is managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC. This line of tea was purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd., and was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

All-time record price for Glenanore Estate

Glenanore Estate situated in Haputale, producing high quality liquoring Orthodox teas, established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction held on 22 March by securing an attractive price of Rs. 1,180 per kg for an OP grade in the Uva High Category. This invoice of tea was purchased by Mabroc Teas Ltd.

Glenanore Estate is managed by Agarapatana Plantations ltd., and the teas were marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

All-time record price for Venture Estate

Venture Estate located in Bogawantalawa, known for producing quality liquoring orthodox teas established an all-time record price, of Rs. 1,120 per kg on an OP grade in the Western High Grown Category at this week’s tea auction held on 22 March. This line of tea was purchased by Continental Tea Ltd.

Venture Estate is managed by Madulsima Plantations PLC and the teas were marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

Two all-time record prices for Halpewatte Uva Estate

Halpewatte Uva Estate located in Bandarawela, which is renowned for producing quality light liquoring orthodox teas, established all-time record prices for a BOP1 grade at Rs. 1,500 per kg and Rs. 1,300 per kg on a liquoring BOPSP in the Uva Medium Category at the tea auction held on 22 March. These invoices were purchased by Commercial Exports Company and Ranfer Teas Ltd., respectively.

Halpewatte Uva Estate is managed by Halpewatte Estate Ltd., and the teas were marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

All-time record price for Spring Valley Estate

Springs Valley Estate located in Badulla, established an all-time record price, of Rs. 1,450 per kg on a liquoring FBOPF1 grade in the Uva High Grown Category at this week’s tea auction held on 22 March. This line of tea was purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd.

Spring Valley Estate is managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC and the teas were marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

Hingalgoda Tea Factory re-establishes all-time record price

Hingalgoda Tea Factory situated in Hiniduma, Galle, known for producing premium quality low grown CTC teas, established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auctions held on 23 March, by securing an attractive price of Rs. 860 per kg for a PF grade in the Off Grade category. This surpassed their previous record price of Rs. 840 per kg for the same grade, which was obtained at the auction held a week ago. This line of tea was purchased by Stassen Exports Ltd., on behalf of Beta Tea.

Hingalgoda Tea Factory is managed by Tea Small Holder Factories PLC and this invoice was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.

All-time record price for Ceciliyan Tea Factory

Ceciliyan Tea Factory situated in Kalawana, Ratnapura, established an all-time record price of Rs. 820 per kg on a BP1 grade in the Low Grown Category at this week’s tea auction held on 23 March. This invoice of tea was purchased by Akbar Brothers Ltd.

Ceciliyan Tea Factory is managed by Ceciliyan Associates Ltd., and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
