Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory establishes an all-time record

Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory established a new all-time record price of Rs. 1,350 per kg for a PEK1 grade in the Low Grown elevational category at this week’s Colombo Tea Auctions, held on 24 - 25 September. The invoice was purchased by M/s. Lakru Teas Ltd.

The factory is situated in Pelmadulla in the Ratnapura District and has a production capacity of 850,000 kg of tea per annum. The factory is owned by Y. C. Weerasena and managed by his two sons Jayanga and Thilanga Weerasena.
