Lak Cinnamon Ltd., a renowned company among cinnamon exporters, bagged a bronze award in small scale, spices and spice related products category at the ‘27th Annual NCE Export Awards- 2019’ ceremony. The gala event organised by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka was held recently in the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
Having started exporting cinnamon in 2016, Lak Cinnamon showed a tremendous success in a short time. Located at Karandeniya in Ambalangoda district, the company has around 50 employees and over seven acres of lush cinnamon cultivation. Presently, Lak Cinnamon exports cinnamon products to Latin American countries with a view to entering the European and American market in near future obtaining organic and international standard certifications. “Receiving such a prestigious award brings us happiness and pride together with courage to march forward in the business sector. The main challenge we face at the moment is the low price and demand for cinnamon in the international market. We hope to achieve our next goal managing the existing situation.
