An invoice of Low Grown BOP1 grade offered by the New Vithanakande Estate, matched its own record of Rs. 1,700 per kg at this week’s Colombo Tea Auction held on 18 and 19 February.
This line of tea was purchased by JMJ International Ltd. New Vithanakande Estate, which is well-known for its excellent teas, regularly tops the market for many grades sold at the public auction in Colombo. This factory is located along the Delwala Hills of the Sabaragamuwa region and is owned by the family of the late N.B.H. Pilapitiya.
This tea was successfully marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities Plc.
