Nilwala Tea Factory Ltd., has bagged the Best Turnaround Brand – Medium Scale Award at the National Industry Brand Excellence Awards 2024, organised by the Industrial Development Board under the Industries Ministry. The award ceremony was recently held in Colombo. Founded by S.W. Dahanayaka, Nilwala Tea Factory has remained a family-owned business since its inception. Now in its second generation of leadership, the factory upholds the traditions and standards set by its founders, while embracing new techniques to enhance production. With over 50 years of experience, the factory has built a reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s leading tea manufacturers.

Nilwala Tea Factory specialises in high-quality black tea, processing only the finest tea leaves to maintain superior taste and aroma. Unlike many factories that prioritise quantity, the company focuses on quality-driven production, paying competitive prices to tea growers and ensuring fair trade practices. The company has over 1,500 suppliers and a dedicated workforce of over 100 employees. Nilwala Tea is highly sought-after by top exporters, with a significant portion sold at the Colombo Tea Auction.
